In a year with such a varied amount of brilliant female performances, I find it hard not to give special honorable mentions to Emma Stone (La La Land), Isabelle Huppert (ElleLouder Than Bombs and Things to Come), Annette Bening (20th Century Women), Amy Adams (Arrival), Ruth Negga (Loving) and the one-two punch of Kim Tae-ri and Kim Min-hee in The Handmaiden
